Taza and Digger

If you don’t think you’re a “cat person”, you’ll change your mind once you’ve met Taza and Digger.  Not only are they gorgeous to look at (Taza is the dilute calico with big blue eyes, and Digger is a handsome chocolate brown with his own striking baby blues), they both ooze personality and love to carry on conversations.  Digger fancies himself one of the next famous opera tenors and loves to serenade us (or himself) while gazing into a mirror.  He’s got a lot to say and he’s not afraid to let you know what’s on his mind!  Both cats are snuggle-bunnies and love nothing better than to curl up under the covers and hog the blankets, or to sit on your lap to help you type on the computer keyboard.

Digger and Taza have had a stressful life.  I have no idea how they spent the first two years of their lives, but by age 2 they were up for adoption at a high-kill shelter.  Luckily, they were adopted together by an elderly couple who loved them and spoiled them, and life looked great until one of their owners unexpectedly passed away, and the other was hit with a difficult illness.  The owner sadly decided he could no longer care for the cats properly, and sadly surrendered them to us.  It was a tough transition for the owner and for the cats—cats always grieve the loss of their family, and it takes a while to help them through that depression.  After about six months T & D started to come out their shells, started to act more comfortable around us, and now they’re just part of the family.  They make us laugh every single day, and I feel so lucky that we’re able to have them here.
