Friends of Wee Paws
We’ve met so many wonderful people who’ve helped Wee Paws succeed, and this is a small attempt at thanking them. Some offer advice, some have sent donations, and others help “keep hope alive” when times are difficult. It’s going to take me quite a long time to complete this list, so if you see someone missing from it (yourself included), please email me and remind me to add you!
When you have a friend who’s so wonderful that you can’t imagine needing any others, that friend deserves to be first. So, first and foremost Friend of Wee Paws is Susan Shaddock, aka “Auntie Susie”, who worked diligently to save the lives of Sugar Ray, Ethan, Slippy, Willy, Joey, and Furry, , and a number of other cats who simply weren’t able to make it here. Auntie Susie remains a guardian angel to the cats she helped save and she’s given us wonderful felines and the gift of peace of mind.
Sheila Taormina: Sheila T. isn’t just an incredible athlete, she’s a cat lover, and she wrote us some wonderful words of encouragement and offered to put a link to Wee Paws on her website. I haven’t taken her up on the link yet (I will… I’m just about three years behind in my correspondence), but here’s a thanks, nevertheless, for her support and the kindness she’s shown to us.
Lolo Jones: Despite being one of the best track and field athletes in the world, and constantly on the go, Lolo Jones always has time to send us words of hope and support. She’s a warm and friendly person and we love cheering her on as she trains for a gold medal at the 2012 Olympics in London. Run, Lolo, run!
Luke McEwan: A man with a great sense of humour and a love of cats… he’s been so kind to us that we named a cat after his character in the HBO series “Game of Thrones”: Rast. The fictional Rast isn’t particularly pleasant to be around, but the feline version is almost perfect.
MANY more to follow…
